What criteria are you looking for when you're about to purchase breast pump? As for me, those are the things that I consider as most important, arranged according to the degree of importance:
1. Double. This feature is important as it's time saving. 30 min for both sides of breast or 1 hour for the same job?
2. Electric. Yes I can't imagine myself pumping by pressing the manual handle of the breastpump. Must take a whole lot of work.
3. Hands free. My main purpose of buying breastpump is to use it at my workplace when the baby's not with me. Therefore I need something that's efficient and doesn't stop me from doing work.
4. Silent. I'll mostly use it in my lab/ office and also in meetings. I don't want to be the centre of attraction while pumping.
5. Economic. Yeah the pricing is important. I think every breastfeeding mother would dream to have Medela, especially the Freestyle, but not everyone can afford it.
6. Size of motor. Yes you don't want your motor to be too bulky because it inhibits your movement.
Based on the criteria above, after some researching and reviews from fellow bloggers, I shortlisted my choices to Lacte Duet and Autumnz Serene.
Before buying, I did tried few double breast pumps at PumpOnTheGo Kelana Jaya. Oh they do have few outlets in KL/ Selangor as well. You can browse through their website first before physically go there. Only there I know that Lacte Duet motor is quite bulky. And the suction is too soft, I did not feel anything. And then I tried Autumnz Serene and immediately fall in love with it. The suction is just nice, not that painful. It also has 3 different modes with different levels and light LED display. The motor is also cute. So without any hesitation, I bought the Autumnz Serene during my 38-week pregnancy. Ladies, it's really important to try using the breastpump first before investing your money because not all pumps are suitable for everyone.
And then...
During my confinement period when I want to try pumping, I totally forgot about point number 3 as above. Only then I bought Freemie, also at PumpOnTheGo, but this time it was online purchase. This decision was also after asking around my sister and my cousin who has been using Freemie previously.
So far I'm loving my breastfeeding journey with Serene and Freemie.
